I Am Aquaponics

The I Am Aquaponics and Education Center’s primary goal is to provide the highest quality organically certified produce grown in an Aquaponics system without any chemicals or artificial fertilizers. Our goal to cultivate as many different types of crops as allowing local residents year-round access to a large variety of crops.

In addition to the Aquaponics system, we will provide educational tours to students and adults showcasing the natural Aquaponics life cycle from vermicomposting (worms and compost), to using fish waste as a source of nutrients for plant life, to planting, caring for and harvesting fruits and vegetables, to the health and nutritional benefits of eating fresh locally grown produce.

Another focus of the education center will be to teach local residents how to build and maintain an urban Aquaponics micro-farm system, so they can grow their own vegetables in small spaces.

We will provide a marketplace for local residents to purchase a large variety of locally grown produce at reasonable prices. A program will be implemented to provide senior citizens a significant discount and a food kitchen and outreach program for the homeless.

We will also team up with the I Am Farmers Markets to convert as many small traditional soil based farms into Aquaponics farms using grow beds and tower to maximize the productivity of the farm.
